Sometimes it’s very hard to make conscious decisions about what we buy, especially when we are in the middle of a school term and we buy groceries to barely survive. Thankfully GoodGuide exists. It has reviews and ratings for most consumer products that would be found on any grocery store, it considers health, environment, and society ratings to come up with a “GoodGuide” rating for each product. This website also has articles about sustainability issues regarding consumer products.
To make it even easier, a GoodGuide iPhone app just came out and it’s pretty neat: while you’re shopping you just take a picture of the barcode of the product and it instantly gives you all the ratings and information about it, but don’t worry if you don’t have an iPhone, you can just text a keyword with any cellphone and they send you the top products on that category, for example you can text “gguide shampoo” to 41411 and you get the best 3 shampoo brands.
