“Sustainable development is a dynamic process which enables all people to realise their potential, and to improve their quality of life, in ways which simultaneously protect and enhance the Earth’s life support systems.”
- (Forum for the Future Annual Report 2000).
Hi Tyler,
You are right about us all trying to buy the cheapest product from China without regard for the implcations of that product’s manufacture. Today I was looking for sweat pants in various stores. All of the big names, Nike, Russel athletics, even Lululemon were made in China and were retailing for about $35.00. I would gladly pay double that for slightly better made and with a garment tag that assured safe environment manufacture. David Doson,Stittsville
Oops, that’s David Dobson, not Doson!!
About closing down this blog because not so many folks are writing…take heart. This last summer has given us all spectacular weather and has reinforced the notion that we should appreciate this beautiful planet we live on. When the cooler temperatures move in, writers will return to their computers and begin writing again….we Canadians tend to be more productive and prolific during the cooler months of the year…writers included. Your blog is very thought provoking and I for one, do appreciate you prodding me to think about “our” world. Keep up the good work!
